Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful woman of God, Linda Cabral Rivera, took the hand of the Lord on December 17, 2024. Born in Oxnard, California, on October 17, 1956, she was the cherished daughter of Lucy and Jess Rivera, whom she is now reunited with in heaven.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, carried forward by her five children: Deanna, Jacob, Vincent, Daniel, and Chris, along with her two daughters-in-law, Laura and Karen. She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Our mom’s faith in God was her guiding light. She was a devoted member of New Life Church, where she served in the children’s ministry. Known for her passionate praise and worship, she loved blasting her favorite Christian songs, raising her hands and lifting her voice to Jesus, as if singing just for Him. Her voice and her faith will forever be etched in our hearts.

Our mom had a great love for nature. She spent hours feeding the neighborhood birds and tending to her many plants. Her arts and crafts brought her peace and quiet joy. She made sure to attend all family gatherings, celebrating every accomplishment with us.

Our mom had a sense of adventure, too—she loved train rides to new places, attending Christian concerts, camping trips with her family, and visiting her son Vincent in Colorado to hike and enjoy God’s beautiful creations.

Though petite in stature, our mom had an incredible strength and boldness. She was always unafraid to speak her mind, and that candidness and courage lives on in us. She carried the strength of the women who came before her. Her prayers, her love, and the seeds of Jesus’ love she planted in our hearts will be deeply missed.

It comforts us to know that our mom is now reunited with her sisters: Rosemary (“Marylou”), Patricia (“Patsy”), Yolanda, and Lorraine (“Chana”) Rivera, along with many other beloved family members.

Mom’s heavenly wish was to tend to a small space in God’s garden. So when you see a plant, a flower, or even a weed, remember it all comes from a tiny seed. Luke 8:11, “The seed is the word of God.”

A celebration of our mom’s life will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2024, at Camino Del Sol Memorial Center, 200 N “C” Street, Oxnard, CA 93030.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 N H Street, Oxnard, CA 93036.

“In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
John 14:2-3
